Waiver
The Participant voluntarily agrees to participate in UW Valley's Day of Caring and acknowledges that participation may involve a wide range of activities. By registering, the Participant affirms that they are participating voluntarily and with a full understanding of the nature of the activities involved. The Participant further acknowledges that they have read, understood, and freely accepted the terms of this Waiver and Release without coercion or duress.
In consideration of being permitted to participate in Day of Caring, the Participant agrees to release and forever discharge and hold harmless UW Valleys, its successors board and staff, collectively or individually, from any and all liability, claims, and demands of any kind or nature, whether in law or in equity, that may arise from participation in Day of Caring activities. This includes any incidents occurring at project sites such as UW Valleys member agencies, other non-profits, private residences, or any other locations involved in Day of Caring. The Participant acknowledges that UW Valleys does not assume any responsibility for providing financial or medical assistance to volunteers.
The Participant acknowledges that activities associated with Day of Caring may carry inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury or property damage. The Participant, on behalf of itself and its volunteers, assumes full responsibility for these risks and releases UW Valleys from any and all liability related to such risks. Furthermore, the Participant releases UW Valleys from any liability related to medical treatment or services rendered in connection with participation.
The Participant acknowledges and agrees that UW Valleys does not provide or maintain health, medical, disability, or other insurance coverage for the benefit of volunteers. The Participant is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining any health, medical, disability, or other insurance coverage they deem appropriate. The Participant understands and accepts all responsibility for any medical expenses, injuries, illnesses, or disabilities that may arise from or relate to their participation as a volunteer, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.
The Participant consents to the use by UW Valleys of photographic images, video footage, and audio recordings taken during Day of Caring, including those of its volunteers. The Participant grants UW Valleys the rights to use and reproduce these materials for promotional and marketing purposes across various media platforms.
